Predator- Badlands
Nov. 17th, 2025 11:53 pmThe Jackal came down this weekend, and we went to see Badlands, the latest Predator film.
We quite enjoyed ourselves, and I'm now re-watching the entire franchise. (It turns out I missed 2 films somewhere along the way)
Badlands delves more deeply into the culture of the Yautja, with one of them being the protagonist. It's mentioned a couple of times that "Yautja hunt alone" But we've seen cooperative behavior from them before! At the end of Predator 2, we see several Yautja, and the obvious leader of the group gives Danny Glover a trophy, that's obviously been passed down in his clan.
My theory, since I haven't searched out any official lore, is that Predator 2 chronicles some sort of Clan Hunt, and that each set of murders was committed by a different Yautja, and they were streaming their helmet data back to the ship for the others to watch. (And bet on, I'm sure they have a betting culture!) That's how the final Yautja choose Danny Glover as his prize.
